James McCarrens stands in honor of the first shift of the 24-Hour Honor Guard Vigil on Friday at Washington Square in Ottawa. McCarrens, who served in the US Navy from 1965 to 1969, stands guard on the point shift to honor all veterans. The vigil continues through the end of today.
