Students at Jefferson Elementary School in Ottawa collected paper goods for the Illinois Valley Public Action to Deliver Shelter facility in October after hearing the homeless shelter opened its doors again Oct. 1 and was in need of items such as paper plates, paper cups, plastic silverware, paper towels and toilet paper. The motto for Jefferson's student council is "together we can" and together students brought in many supplies that were needed.
