Alan Boyle, MSNBC science editor and author, and recipient of numerous science and journalism awards, will be at Streator City Hall at 7 p.m. Friday, March 12.

He is the author of "The Case for Pluto," a contributor to "A Field Guild for Science Writers," the blogger behind the Cosmic Log and contributor to the MSNBC cable channel.

The public is invited to this free program. Boyle will be available to sign books prior to and after the session.

This event commemorates the 80th anniversary of the discovery of Pluto by Streator native Clyde Tombaugh.
