Illinois Valley Community College's Office of Continuing Education will offer "The Art of Tree Decorating" from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Instructor JoEllen Fiorentini, a professional visual merchandising manager, decorates Christmas trees for Bergner's. Participants will learn about types of trees, theme and color schemes, lighting ideas, garland, ribbon and floral picks, placement of ornaments, tree topper ideas and taking down and storage. Students are asked to bring three yards of wide-wired ribbon to practice bow making.
