Print this storyJorge Alejandro Goyre, 31, 2016 First St., was charged with two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a Class X felony, and one count of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). Tri-DENT investigators were alerted to the pot package in transit by suspicious U.S. Postal agents and, when they opened it before delivery, detectives discovered more than 2,000 grams of marijuana and the smaller quantity of cocaine. Standing before La Salle County Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Raccuglia and State's Attorney Brian Towne Wednesday morning, Goyre had his bond set at $100,000. He needs $10,000 cash to be released from custody. He was appointed counsel through the public defender's office. Towne said Goyre's case will be presented to the next grand jury with the defendant's next court date set for Dec. 3. A Class X felony could result in six to 30 years in prison. |
