Anti-drug coalition plans trivia challenge

Middle school and high school students are invited to enter a trivia challenge sponsored by the Illinois Valley Anti-Drug Coalition from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the second floor of the 807 Building, above Jeremiah Joe Coffee, in downtown Ottawa.

The challenge will include general knowledge questions and questions geared to determine students' knowledge about drugs. Teams should consist of four to eight students in grades seven to 12.

First place will receive $250, second will receive $100 and third will receive $50. Many giveaways will be presented throughout the night.

Registration should be completed by Wednesday, Nov. 18, with a fee of $10 per team. After Nov. 18, the fee is $15 per team. Registration will be open at the door the night of the event up to 6:30 p.m.

Entry forms are available at Jeremiah Joe Coffee, Ottawa YMCA and Ottawa schools including St. Patrick, St. Columba, Shepherd Middle, Marquette High and Ottawa Township High.

Entry forms should be mailed, with the fee, to Jeannie Cook, care of Shepherd Middle School, 701 E. McKinley Road, Ottawa, IL 61350. Checks should be payable to the Illinois Valley Anti-Drug Coalition.
