Volunteering at the concession stand involves a lot of patience and a good sense of humor. Serena High School junior Kassie Milam reaches into the refrigerator among a host of items being served for patrons at a recent volleyball game. Many girls volunteer from the school, which provides them work experience and allows them to interact with classmates. Being served in the background are Verna and Bob Dutton of Arlington Heights — who came to watch their granddaughter, Taylor White — play volleyball for Christian Liberty School.
