KATELYN BROZAK of Streator received an academic scholarship to attend Southern Illinois Univeristy in Carbondale for the 2010 fall semester. Brozak received the Provost Scholarship Award, valued at $8,000. Scholarships are based on academic merit and potential for superior achievement in college.

Brozak, who will be a 2010 graduate of Streator Township High School, is the daughter of Ed and Cathy Brozak. Her honors and awards include high school liaison for Illinois High School Scholastic Bowl Coach's Association Steering Committee, National Honor Society and nominee for Principal's Leadership Award Scholarship Program. Brozak also participates in a variety of extracurricular activities including Key Club president, Wide Awake Timberline 4-H Club president and drum major of the Streator Marching Bulldogs.

She plans to study civil engineering at SIUC.
