The city of Streator issued 49 building permits in September with a total value of $4.8 million. Illinois American Water took out a new permit for a $4.1 million project, while St. Mary's Hospital took out a new permit for a $600,000 MRI addition.

The city issued the following permits:

• Six residential alteration/addition.
• Four garage and access buildings.
• Sixteen other (roofs).
• Five fencing.
• Six demolition.
• Eleven signs (permanent and temporary).
• One institutional alteration/addition.
• One industrial.
