Sue Swong has been promoted to manager of human resources at Ottawa Regional Hospital & Healthcare Center.

Swong will lead recruitment efforts for the hospital"s clinical, nonclinical and temporary employees. She also will oversee employee relations and assist departments with their staffing needs.

"Sue has been with Ottawa Regional since 2007 and during that time has developed a wonderful rapport with her co-workers, hospital administrators and physicians," said Robert Chaffin, Ottawa Regional president and CEO, in a press release. "She is knowledgeable about human resources and possesses a great attitude and work ethic that will enhance our human resources department and ultimately, hospital."

Swong holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., and a Master of Business Administration from Shippensburg State University in Shippensburg, Pa.

Prior to joining Ottawa Regional, Swong worked as a seventh-grade math teacher in Greenville, Miss. She also has been employed as an officer manager for a medical office, where her responsibilities included personnel management, medical billing, collections and public relations, and as an account manager for International Business Machines, where she was responsible for marketing IBM products to new and existing customers.
