A Streator husband and wife, who recently pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a Class 3 felony, were sentenced to jail following a prosecution agreement last week in La Salle County.

Marin, 31, both of West Grant Street, were sentenced to 90 days in the county jail and given 30 months of probation by Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Raccuglia for an attempt to sell drugs the woman stole from St. Mary's Hospital pharmacy. Omar was ordered to pay $3,000 in fines and cost. Jenny was required to reimburse St. Mary's $2,471.68 and another $528.32 in fines and costs. Both also were ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and each received one day credit for time served. They had been out of custody under $30,000 bond. Jenny Marin was a pharmacy technician at the hospital when she was arrested in September for taking the prescription painkiller dihydrocodeinone. She had been a licensed technician in Illinois since at least 2005. |
