Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru, has appointed Nancy McDonnell, of Ottawa, director of the information systems department.

McDonnell came to the hospital after working at Old Second National Bank in Aurora, where she was vice president of information services and responsible for technology security. She also had positions with Alliant Group, RR Donnelly, the Illinois Department of Transportation and Boise Cascade Office Products.

McDonnell attended Illinois Valley Community College and earned a Bachelor of Science in network management from Western Governors University. She is a certified information systems security professional, a Cisco certified security professional, a Cisco certified network associate and a Microsoft certified systems engineer.

McDonnell's work experience includes being responsible for project planning, network management, maintenance and support, being a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act security officer and all facets of technology security.
